A renovation to an existing 1950s rambler in an established neighborhood in Salt Lake City, we kept the existing foundation and brick walls while adding a second story to increase living space. The cedar siding is used to identify modifications to the existing home, while stucco designates the addition. With the additional story, we added a large master suite, two additional bedrooms, a large family bath and a secondary family space. In the existing space, we created a large open living area and new, contemporary kitchen and dining space. Finally, as part of the reconfiguration, we added an an attached two-car garage.
