Though situated on a spacious parcel, this small 1920’s home in an established Salt Lake City neighborhood was becoming a bit too confined for the owner’s growing family. The solution was to add a new Master Suite at the rear of the home, connected by a new side entrance and Mud Room. This modestly sized addition allowed reconfiguration of the existing Main Level floor plan to improve its function and simplify circulation, without altering the recently renovated Kitchen or Bathroom. A new Rec Room will be located below the Master Suite, with daylight windows sized to meet egress standards should the owners want to create additional Bedrooms in the Lower Level. In the future the owners may replace their existing detached Garage/Workshop with a new Guest Suite and Garage, so this was considered as part of the overall site planning and concept design.
