Dallas TX Residence

A design collaboration with Maienza + Wilson (Santa Barbara, CA), this renovation of an existing Spanish Colonial style home includes exterior improvements, excavation and construction of a new full basement, and remodeling of the upper level interiors.  All of the design interventions and details draw from the home’s original style while also bringing the residence in line with modern living preferences.  A monumental task unto itself, the basement  is excavated beneath most of the main level above.  Barrel vaults, groin vaults, and coved ceiling features define circulation and living spaces fit between existing concrete piers.  The upper levels feature wood beam ceilings, coffers, and custom painting features.
