This new construction residence will replace an existing brick bungalow in an established neighborhood in Salt Lake City. The Owners, who have outgrown the existing home, wish to create a residence that is compatible with its neighbors while also developing a more contemporary language. To accomplish this, the residence responds to its surroundings with certain architectural ques – a covered front porch to preserve the established street pattern, and a simple gable street face with traditional details – while exploring a more modern composition of these elements as it moves deeper into the building lot.
