Los Angeles CA Residence

A design collaboration with Maienza + Wilson (Santa Barbara, CA), who is also the owner/developer, this project is a thoughtful renovation and addition to a small Spanish colonial style home in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles, California.  At less than 500 square feet, the addition provides just enough space for a proper master suite but frees up the existing floor plan for two bedrooms and bathrooms and an open living space that spills out to the exterior on all sides.  Multi-panel sliding and folding glass doors provide expansive views and access to outdoor decks, allowing the relatively small house to live a lot larger than its footprint.
