Roosevelt Street Addition

This 650-square-foot addition to the rear of a 1950’s brick home sought to balance between competing interests for a new principle bedroom suite, connections between interior living spaces and the rear yard, and a revised configuration of bedrooms within the existing home. By strategically orienting a new staircase and connections between the existing house and the newly added spaces, the addition satisfies the family’s need for large gathering spaces and clear views to the outdoors, while continuing to make effiecient use of the spaces in the existing home.
