Roots + Canopy

This mixed-use project on a site in Pleasant Grove’s Downtown Village Commercial Subdistrict is meant to complement the historic character of the established Main Street nearby with a modern composition and mix of uses.  Three levels of 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments sit above commercial space at the ground level and a mezzanine overlooking it.  The exterior is broken horizontally by cornice lines to divide the massing into a street-appropriate base, residential scale above, and penthouse cap.  The full building height is experienced as one single vertical composition only at the street corner.
