A renovation to an existing craftsman bungalow in the Harvard-Yale area of Salt Lake City, the clients were looking for more space to fit their growing family. By replacing the entire roof with attic trusses and converting the existing hip ends to gables, we were able to increase the usable area of the second floor without increasing the building footprint. An additional bedroom, bathroom, and office nook were created in the new layout. What was once an awkward, dark second floor became a sun-filled, airy sanctuary to which the family may retreat.
